Season to Date, “This Week” Ranks as the No. 1 Public Affairs Program in Adults 25-54

— -- ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” averaged 3.194 million Total Viewers and 941,000 Adults 25-54 on August 23, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. In Adults 25-54, “This Week” beat CBS’ “Face the Nation” (793,000) by 148,000.

“This Week” scored double-digit, week-to-week gains (2.873 million and 773,000, respectively, for w/o 8/16/15) in both Total Viewers (+11%) and Adults 25-54 (+22%). In fact, “This Week” drew its largest overall audience in over 6 months – since 2/15/15.

“This Week” also turned double-digits increases on the year-ago Sunday (2.765 million and 846,000, respectively, on 8/24/14) in both Total Viewers (+16%) and Adults 25-54 (+11%). “This Week” has posted year-to-year improvement in 5 of the last 6 weeks in both measures.

Season to date, “This Week” ranks as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (875,000), taking the top spot for the first time at this point of the season in 21 years – since the 1993-94 season. “This Week” leads CBS’ “Face the Nation” (863,000) by 12,000 and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (814,000) by 61,000.

“This Week” is up in Adults 25-54 (+5% - 875,000 vs. 830,000) versus its year-ago season average. Growing its Adults 25-54 performance for the 2nd year in a row, “This Week” is delivering its strongest news demo performance in 6 years – since the 2008-09 season. In fact, “This Week” is up the most in Adults 25-54, compared to CBS’ “Face the Nation” (-2%), NBC’s “Meet the Press” (+2%) and Fox’s “Fox News Sunday” (flat).

In addition, “This Week” is outdelivering NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers (+3,000) and Adults 25-54 (+61,000) for the 2nd-straight year, seeing its largest news demo lead in 21 years – since the 1993-94 season.
