“This Week” Ranks No. 1 in Adults 25-54, Taking the Top Spot for the 6th Consecutive Week

— -- ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Adults 25-54 (1.065 million) on October 4, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. Leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (896,000) by 169,000 Adults 25-54 to take the top spot in the key adult news demo for the 6th week in a row, “This Week” delivered the top Adult 25-54 telecast among any of the Sunday public affairs programs in nearly 6 months – since a CBS “Face the Nation” telecast on 4/26/15.

“This Week” surged week-to-week by double-digits (2.735 million and 868,000, respectively, for w/o 9/27/15) in both Total Viewers (+36%) and Adults 25-54 (+23%) to score its most-watched telecast in more than 6 1/2 years – since 1/11/09.

“This Week” also saw sharp increases year to year (2.909 million and 840,000, respectively, for w/o 10/5/14) in both Total Viewers (+28%) and Adults 25-54 (+27%), posting gains on the year-ago Sunday in 5 of its last 7 telecasts.

Two weeks into the new season, “This Week” ranks as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (967,000), leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” (705,000) by 262,000 and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (865,000) by 102,000. In fact, “This Week’s” news demo lead over “Face the Nation” is its largest at this point of a season in 17 years – since the 1998-99 season. In addition, “This Week” is beating “Meet the Press” in the key adult news demo season to date for the 2nd year in a row.

“This Week” is improving in both Total Viewers (+6% - 3.233 million vs. 3.036 million) and Adults 25-54 (+11% - 967,000 vs. 871,000) versus its year-ago season averages to post its strongest start to a season in 7 years – since the 2008-09 season.

NOTE: CBS’ “Face the Nation” was pre-empted due to an NFL game in London.
