title: Storms Blast West Coast

text: Thousands were left without power along the West Coast overnight, with mudslides expected in fire-damaged areas because of the “pineapple express” storm that hammered the coast from California to Washington.

The storm was pushing southward, with rain and heavy winds reported in parts of the San Fernando Valley in California.

The huge, swirling system -- the worst storm to strike the area in years -- covered much of California Thursday, bringing strong gales and much-needed rain and snow that caused widespread blackouts in Northern California and whiteouts in the Sierra Nevada range.

The brunt of the storm hit the San Francisco Bay Area, flooding freeways, toppling trees and keeping thousands of people home from work and school.

title: Melissa Rivers Opens Up About Mom's Death

text: For the first time since her mother Joan died on Sept. 4, Melissa Rivers spoke publicly about the comedic legend.

"For me the last three months and six days -- not that I’m counting -- have been different to say the least,” she said during The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Breakfast in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Rivers remembered her mother as "fearless."

"I don’t mean she didn't have any fears," she said. "I mean that although she was only 5-foot-2, she stood tall and walked through them. ... She was willing to say what others were thinking and too frightened to admit. She never apologized for a joke and no topic was taboo and she was fine with that."

title: Supermodel Beverly Johnson Is Latest Cosby Accuser

text: Beverly Johnson told ABC News that she believed coffee Bill Cosby made for her in the mid-1980s was drugged.

She said started to yell at him as she felt the effects of sipping the coffee, prompting him to force her out of his house and drag her down the steps of his brownstone building.

"I think at that point he wanted to get me out of there," Johnson told ABC News.

Johnson's claims follow accounts by other women that Cosby made unwanted sexual advances, sometimes after they allegedly were drugged.

Cosby's attorneys have not responded to ABC News' requests for comment but have called previous accusers' claims "unsubstantiated fantastical stories."
