Now fans of the nationally syndicated talk show are paying tribute to Magliozzi on social media. Listeners recalled his "infectious laughter" and "generous" advice.

"Thank you Tom for the laughs and for keeping my car running," one Twitter user wrote.

The popular radio personality, with his signature Massachusetts accent, hosted "Car Talk" with his brother, Ray Magliozzi, since the show first started in 1987.
