No added motivation needed for Tom Brady when facing Colts

— -- FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady insisted Wednesday that there is no added personal motivation for him in Sunday night's road game against the Indianapolis Colts, the team that informed the NFL about its concerns regarding the inflation level of the Patriots' footballs, which sparked Deflategate.

"I'm always pretty motivated," Brady said in a short, four-minute news conference. "It'll be an exciting game. I know they've got a good team. They've won three straight. It's going to take a great effort to beat them."

When asked how it was possible that facing the Colts didn't give him any extra incentive to win, Brady repeated that he's "always pretty motivated, regardless of the opponent."

A reporter then told Brady that he sounded like a robot, asking, "Isn't there any heart in there, any human, that wants it a little extra this week?"

To which Brady replied, "I'm human. There's no doubt. I'm definitely human."

Brady said earlier that he tries to approach each week as a professional.

"You really put a lot into it every week, no matter who you're playing, because all these games are important. All of them are hard to win, all of them have good players. They're all pros, with pro coaches and good schemes," he said. "So you really put a lot into every week, and if you don't, then you don't have much opportunity to win. So I think you just try to approach each week as a professional, give it your all, do the best you can, and hopefully it leads to positive outcomes when it matters, which is on game day. ...

"There are so few of those where you get an opportunity in your life, so I don't take it for granted. I think it's exciting to go out there and do something that I love to do, and do it with teammates who I love to play with. We all put a lot of effort in -- coaches, players -- so it's another opportunity for us to go out there and see if we can be a good football team."
