— -- Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was treated at a Dallas hospital Sunday.

Team sources said Talib had been treated for a gunshot wound to one of his legs, but team officials were still attempting to gather information about the incident late Sunday afternoon.

A spokesman at Medical City Hospital confirmed Sunday afternoon that Talib, 30, had been treated at the hospital and discharged Sunday morning.

According to multiple reports, Talib was injured at a nightclub in Dallas, where he has an offseason home. WFAA-TV first reported the news.

The Broncos are scheduled to travel, as a team, to Washington, D.C., Monday to be honored at the White House for their Super Bowl 50 win. It is unknown if Talib will still make the trip.

Talib was indicted on an aggravated assault charge for an incident near Dallas in 2011; he allegedly pistol-whipped his sister's boyfriend and fired shots at the man, but the charges were later dismissed for lack of evidence.

In 2014 the Broncos were initially informed Talib had been arrested in Dallas, but it was actually Talib's brother, Yaqub Talib, who had been arrested at that time. Dallas police released a correction on social media saying information that Aqib Talib had been arrested "was incorrect.''

In 2015, Talib and his brother were questioned at the scene of an aggravated assault at Dallas nightclub. Talib was questioned by police and his car was towed by police and examined for evidence, but he was not charged in the incident.

Talib signed a six-year, $57 million deal with the Broncos in 2014.
