— -- Pro Football Focus will be providing analysis for every major NFL signing and trade during the 2015 free-agency period, accounting primarily for the quality of the player and his fit with his new team, while focusing less on the financial terms of the deal.

Here is a grade for the Miami Dolphins' signing of Jordan Cameron.

Charles Clay, but the Dolphins and Cameron were the first to get a deal signed.

Earlier in the day, reports were swirling that Cameron had agreed to terms and was returning to Cleveland, but that idea proved inaccurate as Miami made a late run to land the free-agent tight end. Not wanting to wait on the Clay situation, the Dolphins acted to secure the other talented receiving option. Miami still holds the right to match offers for Clay, having applied the transition tag to him last week, and may in fact make a run at nabbing both tight ends. But they also may be content to let him move on, happy at this point with one in the bag.

Not known as a run blocker, Cameron puts up impressive receiving numbers. He was third among tight ends in 2014 with 1.93 yards per route run and led the position with 17.7 yards per catch. Clay had lined up in various spots for the Dolphins in recent years -- out wide, in the slot and occasionally in the backfield, in addition to more typical inline tight end positions -- and Cameron had done the same during his time in Cleveland. If this ends up being Cameron replacing Clay in Miami, the Dolphins stand to gain more of a seam threat while possibly losing something in the run blocking department as Clay had made strides there last season. Cameron's concussion history is the final factor keeping this from a higher grade.
