Carson Wentz engineers Eagles touchdown on first career drive

— -- PHILADELPHIA -- It didn't take long for Carson Wentz to get his first taste of success.

The rookie quarterback out of North Dakota State went 4-for-5 for 57 yards and a touchdown on his first NFL drive, helping the? Philadelphia Eagles?jump out to a 7-0 lead Sunday against the? Cleveland Browns.?The lone incompletion was a drop from Jordan Matthews.

Matthews made up for it, though, hauling in a perfectly placed ball in the left corner of the end zone for a 19-yard TD reception. Tight end Zach Ertz kick-started the drive with a one-handed grab along the right sideline for a 14-yard completion -- the first of Wentz's career.

Wentz later threw another touchdown pass -- 35 yards to Nelson Agholor in the third quarter -- and finished 22 of 37 for 278 yards in the Eagles' 29-10 victory.

Wentz is the first rookie quarterback to start a season opener for the Eagles since Davey O'Brien in 1939.
