Center/forward Burgess selects Cougars

— -- Top 100 center/forward David Burgess of Irvine-Woodbridge, Cal., has chosen BYU over Gonzaga. Burgess, whose brother Chris played for Duke and Utah, had earlier considered Louisville, Florida and UCLA. The Cougars recently gained center/forward Chris Miles of Provo-Timpview, Utah, over Gonzaga, Utah State and Utah; and guard Lee Cummard of Mesa, Ariz., over Arizona State and UCLA.

St. John's has a commitment from center Mohamed Camara of Guinea/Louisville-Moore, Kty/Riverside CC, Cal., over Arizona State, Rutgers and San Diego State.

Radford pledged forward Josh Fox of Staunton-Riverheads, Va., over Winthrop, American and Loyola-Maryland. He averaged 1.5 points and 9.3 rebounds as a junior.

Hampton has a commitment from guard Adrian Woodard of Sanford-Lee County, NC.

Penn gained guard David Whitehurst of Monmouth, NJ/Lawrenceville-Lawrenceville Prep, NJ.

Mercer has a commitment from forward Sam Dolan of Albany, NY/Oakdale-St. Thomas More, Conn., over Marist and Stetson.

Top 100 guard Albert Weber of Durham-Mt. Zion Academy, NC., who reopened his recruiting after committing to Alabama, is considering UConn, Arkansas, the Tide and Oklahoma.

Ramel Bradley, a Top 100 guard from Brooklyn-Park West, NY/Mt. Zion Academy, Va/Bradenton-IMG Academy, Fla., who denies reports of a verbal to Kentucky, is also considering Boston College, Georgia, Clemson and Miami-Florida.

Eighty-eight prospects on the early Class 2004 Top 100 have already made commitments. List of remaining Top 100 Prospects.
