Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller will not face charges in regards to an investigation by the Parker Police Department, the district attorney's office said in a statement Friday.

Police in Parker, Colorado, submitted a criminal case against Miller but the district attorney in the 18th Judicial District declined to file charges. Police confirmed that Miller was the subject of an investigation back in January but declined to specify for what.

Miller's attorney, Harvey Steinberg, was unavailable for comment.

Miller missed the 2020 season after he suffered an ankle injury in practice just days before the opener. He has an option clause in his contract that if the Broncos pick up would guarantee $7 million of his $17.5 million base salary and engage the final year of a six-year, $114.5 million deal he signed in 2016.

Broncos general manager George Paton said Thursday that the team wants Miller back for the 2021 season, but that they were still waiting to hear more about the investigation.
