Dayton extends Archie Miller into '22
— -- Dayton Flyers coach Archie Miller has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him with the school through 2022.
The three-year extension marks the second straight season the school has extended Miller.
"The length and increased levels of compensation in this contract extension demonstrates the University of Dayton's commitment to Archie Miller, and his commitment to us," Dayton athletic director Tim Wabler said in a statement. "Having our men's basketball program perform successfully at the national level is a priority for our institution, and only a handful of teams have won as many NCAA games as the Flyers in the last two seasons."
Miller is coming off a second straight appearance in the NCAA tournament, and Dayton is one of just six schools to win at least five tournament games over the past two seasons, joining traditional powers Arizona (which is coached by Miller's brother Sean), UConn, Kentucky, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
Miller, 36, is a semifinalist for two national coach of the year awards after leading the Flyers to a 27-9 record and the third round of this year's NCAA tournament. In four years at Dayton, Miller is 90-47.
