Jadeveon Clowney registers first NFL sack, but Texans trounced

— -- MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Houston Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney got his first NFL sack on Sunday, taking down Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill late in the second quarter.

It didn't mean much for the Texans. They trailed 41-0 at the time, which was the score at halftime. Houston ended up losing 44-26.

The Dolphins set a franchise record for most points in a half with their 41-0 halftime lead, breaking a 48-year-old mark. Miami's previous record for a half was 35 in 1967.

Clowney has played in 10 games for the Texans since they made him the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2014.

He missed almost all of his rookie season, playing only parts of four games, as he worked through a torn lateral meniscus and lateral articular cartilage damage.

This season, Clowney missed one game. He was inactive against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week with a sprained ankle. Clowney was questionable for Sunday's game as he worked back from the ankle injury.
