Jason Heyward traded to Cardinals

— -- The Atlanta Braves have traded outfielder Jason Heyward and pitcher Jordan Walden to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday in exchange for pitchers Shelby Miller and Tyrell Jenkins, the teams announced.

Heyward had a career .262 batting average with 84 home runs and 292 RBIs since making his debut with the Braves in 2010, when he finished second in the NL Rookie of the Year voting.

He made the All-Star team in 2010, and also has two Gold Glove awards (2012, '14).

Walden had a 2.88 ERA, 62 strikeouts and three saves in 50 innings pitched last season for the Braves. He made the AL All-Star team in 2011. leading the Los Angeles Angels with 32 saves.
