— -- Utah Jazz forward Gordon Hayward?suffered a fractured fourth finger on his left hand during practice Friday, the team said in a news release.

According to The Salt Lake Tribune, Hayward was injured when the finger became caught in a teammate's jersey in practice.

The Jazz did not disclose a time frame for Hayward's recovery or return, but the Tribune's report said he was expected to miss at least six weeks. According to league sources who spoke with ESPN, Hayward was in the process of considering treatment options.

"Hayward will undergo additional evaluation by the Jazz medical staff and further updates will be provided when appropriate," the team's statement said.

Sources earlier told ESPN that Hayward had suffered a dislocated finger and was out indefinitely.

"Obviously, this is disappointing, a real setback for Gordon," Hayward's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told The Tribune. "Gordon stayed in Salt Lake City during the summer. He was poised to have a breakout season. He had taken it to another level."

Hayward, 26, averaged 19.7 points in 80 starts for the Jazz last season. He has been their leading scorer the past three seasons.

The injury was first reported Friday via Twitter by veteran NBA reporter Chris Haynes.
