— -- Longtime Indianapolis wide receiver Marvin Harrison and former coach Tony Dungy were selected Saturday to join the Pro Football Hall of Fame as members of the 2016 class, Colts owner Jim Irsay told reporters.

Harrison and Dungy figured prominently in the Colts' Super Bowl XLI win over the Chicago Bears in 2007.

Harrison, who is seventh all time in receiving yards, spent all 13 seasons of his storied career with the Colts and was selected to eight Pro Bowls.

Dungy, now a studio analyst for NBC, coached the Colts from 2002 through '08 after spending 1996 through 2001 coaching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also won Super Bowl XIII as a defensive back for the  Pittsburgh Steelers.

San Francisco 49ers great Terrell Owens, second in NFL history in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns, announced on Twitter that he was not chosen in the 2016 class.

Owens went to six Pro Bowls in an entertaining 15-year career, during which he played for the 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.

Eddie DeBartolo, who presided over five Super Bowl-winning teams in the 23 years he owned the 49ers, was also selected, according to media reports. DeBartolo took ownership of the 49ers in 1977 and directed one of the most dominant stretches by a team in NFL history. He relinquished control of the team in 2000 to his sister, Denise DeBartolo York, and her husband, John York. The couple's son Jed is the team's CEO.
