John Harbaugh: No unfinished family business when it comes to 49ers
— -- If you think John Harbaugh is coming to Santa Clara this weekend to handle some unfinished family business, think again.
The Baltimore Ravens coach says he harbors no ill will toward the San Francisco 49ers after the unceremonious if somewhat contentious departure of his younger brother Jim from the Niners last December.
"You really don't have time for that ... too much to worry about, too much to prepare for, too many things that we're dealing with to even think about that stuff," Harbaugh said in a conference call with Bay Area reporters Wednesday morning. "That's really very much irrelevant to what we're trying to accomplish.
"We've got our hands full with what we're trying to do as a football team to even think about that stuff."
Harbaugh was asked if it's difficult to not think about the connection between the Niners and Ravens, especially given the fact that the teams played each other in Super Bowl XLVII. But he said he doesn't think about it unless the subject comes up.
"It's not tough at all to not think about it," he said. "It just never comes to mind. It's not part of the equation at all. Life moves on.
"I've said this before, many times, but Jim loved his time there. He loved the players, loved the fans, loved being a 49er. They had four great years and, you know, everybody moves on to the next thing in life. And I think once you kind of realize all that ... that's how he feels about it. He feels great about it. If he feels great about it, I feel great about it for him. Other than that, I'm not involved in that at all. Never was."
