— -- After one-year-plus with the St. Louis Cardinals, starting pitcher John Lackey is staying in the National League Central and joining the Chicago Cubs, according to a media report.

Fox Sports reports that Lackey has agreed to a two-year contract with the Cubs worth $32-34 million.

The deal is pending a physical, the report says.

Lackey went 13-10 last season with the Cardinals and had a 2.77 ERA. He made two appearances in the National League Division Series against the Cubs, winning Game 1 and taking a no-decision in Chicago's series-ending Game 4 victory.

The 37-year-old Lackey has pitched 12 seasons with the Los Angeles Angles, Boston Red Sox and Cardinals. He has two World Series rings, one with the Angels in 2002 and with the Red Sox in 2013.
