— -- GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The lawyer for suspended Florida Gators quarterback Treon Harris said on Friday that his accuser has withdrawn her sexual assault claim.

"The young lady who claimed that Treon Harris sexually battered her has withdrawn her complaint," attorney Huntley Johnson told ESPN. "I am pleased for Treon Harris and his family."

University spokesperson Janine Sikes says in a statement that the school will "have more information on his football status later in the day."

Harris, 19, was suspended by the University of Florida and the University Athletic Association on Monday when university police began an investigation into an accusation that Harris sexually assaulted a female student at an on-campus residence hall early Sunday morning.

Multiple sources close to the football program told ESPN.com that the accuser is also an athlete at the university.

Harris' attorneys said Thursday that the accuser was "the sexual aggressor with not one, but two young men last Sunday morning."

Johnson also said Harris intends to stay at Florida.

"Treon Harris absolutely and unequivocally wants to stay at the University of Florida," Johnson told ESPN.

Harris, a true freshman, came off the bench and rallied the Gators to a 10-9 victory at Tennessee. He has been placed on an "interim suspension," which bans him from campus and all team activities. He is allowed to take online courses.
