— -- NEW YORK -- Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James surpassed Michael Jordan and moved into second place on the NBA's all-time All-Star scoring list Sunday night when he scored his 263rd career point.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant ranks first on the list with 280 career All-Star points.

James finished with 30 points in the East's 163-158 loss at Madison Square Garden and now has 278 career All-Star points.

"Any time you're in the conversation with a great, it's very humbling," James said. "It's an honor. And I just got to keep getting better and better hopefully, and keep understanding how I got here and why I'm here."

Jordan finished his career with 262 All-Star points.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, who was named Most Valuable Player, finished with 41 points -- one point shy of tying Wilt Chamberlain's single-game All-Star record (42) set in 1962. Jordan had 40 in 1988.

Westbrook had 27 first-half points, the most points scored in a half in All-Star history.

"It's definitely an honor to be grouped in with those two guys [Chamberlain and Jordan] -- especially in an All-Star Game," Westbrook said.

The 321 total points scored in the game were a single-game All-Star record, as were the 48 3-pointers the teams shot collectively.
