Marco Andretti will lead the Indianapolis 500 field to green next Sunday after posting the best time among the Fast Nine at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Andretti posted 231.068 mph to hold off series leader Scott Dixon (231.051) on Sunday. They will be joined on the front row by 2017 Indy 500 winner Takuma Sato.

This is the first pole position for the Andretti family at the race since Mario Andretti, Marco's grandfather, earned his third pole in 1987.

Rinus VeeKay, Ryan Hunter-Reay and James Hinchcliffe will make up the second row, while Alex Palou, Graham Rahal and Alexander Rossi qualified for Row 3.
