— -- SEATTLE -- Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett left Thursday night's 24-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth quarter and was evaluated for a possible concussion.

Carroll told reporters after the game that Bennett got "wrenched in the neck, not hit in the head" and said he "should be OK."

Bennett collided violently with running back Todd Gurley on a run play with 13:09 left in the game. He was slow to get up, and teammates immediately called for members of the Seahawks' medical staff.

The team evaluated Bennett on the sideline and then took him into the locker room.

Bennett, an eight-year veteran, missed five games earlier this season with a knee injury. He made the Pro Bowl last season and has been one of the Seahawks' most consistent players since joining the team in 2013.

Also Thursday, Seahawks punter Jon Ryan?took a hard hit after taking off on a fake punt, and Carroll said Ryan was taken to the hospital with a concussion.

Ryan ran for 33 yards on the fake punt before being brought down by Rams cornerback Troy Hill with 5:12 left in the game.
