Major League Baseball announced Thursday that minor-league players will be paid between now and April 8, the scheduled start of the minor league season.

MLB said it would continue to work with all 30 clubs on the development of an industry-wide plan for compensation beyond April 8 because of the shutdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Baseball is on hiatus until at least mid-May because of the coronavirus.
