Rafael Nadal wins French Open

— -- Rafael Nadal won the French Open for a record ninth time, defeating rival Novak Djokovic in four sets Sunday in the men's final.

It was the fifth straight French Open championship for Nadal, who has 14 career Grand Slam titles.

After a slow start, Nadal rolled the rest of the way at Roland Garros for a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4 victory.
