Rangers lose Yu Darvish to DL

— -- ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Rangers placed ace starter Yu Darvish on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation on Wednesday.

Darvish reported tightness in his right elbow while playing catch on Monday.

In Darvish's last start, on Saturday, he lasted just four innings, allowing six runs, five earned, while throwing 113 pitches in a loss to the Houston Astros.

Darvish said he didn't have any physical problems during his start. The Rangers will call up Robbie Ross Jr., from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Darvish, who was scheduled to start on Thursday at Tampa Bay.
