— -- DICKINSON, N.D. -- The University of Mary women's basketball team, which came one win away from an undefeated Dakota Athletic Conference season, dominates the league's postseason honors. Forward Jessica Zundel, a first-team pick, also was named most valuable player and most valuable senior. Marauders guard Andrea Ronderos also was a first-team member, and coach Fred Fridley was named coach of the year. Ronderos shared the defensive player of the year honor with Valley City State's Nicolle James. Other first-teamers were Jamestown guard Brietta Bowerman, Minot State forward Jennifer Sundahl and South Dakota Tech center Stacie Vedvei, whose sister, Melanie Vedvei, was named freshman of the year. Named to the second team were center Loni Hall of Valley City State, forwards Megan Barnes of South Dakota Tech and Alisa Doolan of Black Hills State, and guards Natalie Brunner of Mary and Sara Berglund of Dickinson State. Third-team members were centers Lindsey Ness of Jamestown and Corrie Villegas of Si Tanka-Huron, forward Brittney Klipfel of Black Hills State, and guards Janae Larson of Valley City State and Steph Meggers of Mayville State.
