Source: Chiefs' Brad Childress, Matt Nagy to split OC duties

— -- KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs plan to split the offensive coordinator's duties between Brad Childress and Matt Nagy, a source said. Details of how those duties will be split are still being determined.

Childress and Nagy would replace Doug Pederson, who after three seasons as the Chiefs' coordinator left to become head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Childress and Nagy have been on Reid's staff in Kansas City since Reid arrived as head coach in 2013. Childress has been an offensive assistant with the title of spread game analyst and special projects. Nagy has coached the quarterbacks.

Childress, 59, was Reid's offensive coordinator in Philadelphia from 2002 through 2005. The Eagles were in the NFL's top 10 in scoring in two of those four seasons.

Nagy, 37, played quarterback at Delaware and as a pro in the Arena Football League. He joined the Eagles under Reid in 2010 as an offensive assistant.
