Texans bench QB Brock Osweiler

— -- HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans benched quarterback Brock Osweiler for backup quarterback Tom Savage midway through the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars?on Sunday.

Osweiler threw interceptions on back-to-back drives in the second quarter and was 6-of-11 for 48 yards and two interceptions in five drives. He had a passer rating of 26.1.

Entering the game, Osweiler had completed 59.7 percent of his passes for 2,656 yards with 14 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He had multiple interceptions in a game for the fourth time this season.

Savage had not taken a regular-season NFL snap since 2014.

Fan booed Osweiler off the field and there were loud cheers when Savage entered the game.
