This wide receiver pulled off an amazing lateral for a touchdown

The hook-and-lateral is a designed play in which a receiver catches the ball and then almost immediately pitches it to a teammate behind him. It's risky and incredibly difficult, but the payoff is usually a touchdown -- or an embarrassing fumble that causes everyone involved to second-guess their series of decisions.

This play, from Oakland Mills (Maryland) High School, doesn't seem quite as planned out as your standard hook-and-lateral -- for one thing, it's generally ill-advised to wait until half the team is tackling you before you pitch the ball -- but it worked out just fine:

Definitely a case of "good job, but don't ever do that again."
