— -- After a little horseplay, a retiree in China reportedly has come up with the perfect ride.

Su Daocheng, 60, spent two months building a gasoline-powered mechanical horse. With Su riding proudly, the horse galloped through the streets in the central China city of Shiyan.

The retiree, who said he is an invention enthusiast, created the horse from a kart engine and chains, according to China Daily.

His inspiration for the mechanical horse, according to the newspaper, came from Zhuge Liang, who ruled the Shu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period in China from 220 to 280 AD.

A vehicle invented during that time is said to have carried army supplies over long distances -- all without consuming energy or much labor.
