— -- There's a secret chess game hidden inside the Facebook Messenger app.

Accessing the game is as easy as typing @FBChess play into Messenger. A chess board will then appear within a message with a friend.

Here’s where it gets tricky: Making a move requires players to use Standard Algebraic Notation. K is for king, Q for queen, B for bishop, N for knight, R for rook, and P for pawn.

The chess board includes one axis with numbers and one with letters, allowing players to specify where they’d like to move a piece. Moving the queen piece to G3 would mean “@fbchess QG3.”

The command “x” can be used with the code to specify when a player wants to capture a piece. If you need a reminder -- simply type @fbchess help for the instructions.

It’s unclear how long the game has been hidden in Messenger, but its gaining attention after it was discovered in a chess discussion on the site Reddit.
