In October 2013, T-Mobile announced that Shakira would be joining the company as a "T-Mobile collaborator." T-Mobile was vauge about the multi-year partnership but said it would support the singer's new single and album release and Shakira said she would help spread the word about T-Mobile's effort to "bring the world closer together."
