AOL Buys The Huffington Post

Feb. 7, 2011— -- There's a new deal in the online media world.

AOL is buying The Huffington Post. The $315 million deal will put the news site's founder, Ariana Huffington, in charge of AOL content.

The Huffington Post gets 25 million visitors a month. The move could boost AOL's struggling ad sales.

Yahoo is also reportedly making some big changes.

The New York Times reports that Yahoo plans to develop a publishing platform for apps.

The apps would let users get personalized content on their phones and other mobile devices.

Content would be based on the users' declared preferences, previous searches and social media.

eReader business is booming, and it seems kids are the big customers lately.

The New York Times reports that eReader book sales have spiked since the holidays.

The big sellers are kids books, like "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "The Dork Diaries" series.
