TechBytes: 'Call of Duty' Shatters Record
Latest title in video game franchise racks up record sales.
Dec. 13, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes, "Modern Warfare 3" has shattered another record.
The latest game in the "Call of Duty" series has racked up $1,000,000,000 in sales -- and it took just 16 days to do it.
Last year's "Call of Duty" game -- "Black Ops" -- is the best-selling video game of all time and "Modern Warfare 3" appears well on the way to topping it.
An estimated 30 million people have played at least one "Call of Duty" game since they debuted in 2003.
Best Sports Title of 2012
According to Sports Illustrated's Paul Ulane, the best sports video game of the year is "NBA 2K12."
In fact, he goes further, calling it the best sports game he's ever seen.
"It really gives you an amazing basketball simulation, but it also combines that with the experience of being able to play from different eras with different players. And that's something that we have never really seen before in any sports game, let alone a basketball game," noted Ulane.
"NBA 2K12" is available for all major gaming platforms.
