TechBytes: FTC Plans Anti-trust Investigation of Google
Competitors claim search results are manipulated.
June 24, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes, federal regulators are ready to investigate Internet search giant Google.
Federal regulators are reportedly looking into whether Google abused its dominance in Internet searches by crowding out competitors in other areas, such as mapping.
Nook and Kobo eReader Touch EditionCompetition is intensifying in the e-reader market. USA Today's Ed Baig recently tried out Barnes & Noble's Nook and the Kobo eReader Touch Edition.
He was pleased with the touchscreens on both devices, which he said were lighter and easier to handle.
"Now I'm a big fan of the Kindle, but the new Nook and the new Kobo are definitely formidable competitors. They have touchscreens, they're small, they're compact. They have excellent battery life, and they're worth considering, especially if you want the feel of a touchscreen versus something that relies more on physical buttons," said Baig.
Baig said the Kobo's Wi-Fi connection dropped out occasionally.
