TechBytes: Can Justin Timberlake Save Myspace?

Timberlake and Specific Media acquire the beleaguered social network.

June 30, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes: Justin Timberlake has played a social media entrepreneur in the movies, now he gets to be one. Timberlake is teaming with Specific Media to buy Myspace, and plans to rebuild and reinvigorate it.

News Corp. is selling the website for $35 million, much less than it paid for it.

Skype on Android

Skype video chats are coming to Android. For the first time, Android users can now make free video calls to anyone with a Skype account.

Up until now, only audio calls were possible on Android phones. The Skype for Android app is available for free starting this morning from the Android marketplace.

Tag Heuer's Pricey Phone

For those who want their smartphone to impress, there's the new Tag Heuer Link phone.

The casing is made from alligator and lizard skins, 18-karat rose gold or titanium and diamond accents. As for the phone itself, it runs Android's operating system, and has a 5 megapixel camera.

The phone retails for $6,700.
