TechBytes: Privacy Concerns Over Facebook and LinkedIn

Users alarmed by automatic integration of personal data on the networking sites.

Aug. 12, 2011— -- In today's TechBytes, new changes have Facebook and LinkedIn users worried about privacy.

Facebook is adding contacts from members' smartphones to their personal accounts. Facebook insists the lists aren't publicly visible.

LinkedIn is reserving the right to use members' names and photos in ads, unless the member opts out.

Intel Ultrabooks

Intel is developing a series of "Ultrabooks" that could compete with the Macbook Air and iPad 2. These thinner, lighter ultrabooks will have a longer battery life.

They'll cost less than $1,000.

Google+ Games

Google+ is adding games from Zynga.

Google+ is offering to let game developers keep most of the transaction revenue, so they'll consider Google+ before competing sites.

What See App

A new app can help new parents relate to their newborn. The "What See" app comes from a Swedish company and shows parents what their baby can likely see before its eyesight develops.
