In Memoriam: Recalling Lives of Note

"This Week" remembers Pete Newell, Betty James, Clive Barnes, Jim Mattox.

Nov. 23, 2008— -- Pete Newell, 93 -- Hall of Fame basketball coach and innovator who reinvented the way centers played the game. He led Berkeley to the 1959 NCAA championship and the U.S. Olympic team to victory in 1960.

Betty James, 90 -- Co-Founder, Slinky Company.

Clive Barnes, 81 -- Dance and theater critic.

Jim Mattox, 65 -- Congressman from Texas from 1976 to 1982. Known as the "junkyard dog" of Texas politics, he also served as state attorney general.

"We represent the people. I think we represent the grassroots of the average voter, the person that likes someone who will take on the big guys."

Dr. Adrian Kantrowitz, 90 -- Heart transplant pioneer.
