'The View' Searches for America's Ultimate Volunteer

Sept. 16, 2009 -- Kate Gosselin, Taylor Swift and LaToya Jackson are among this week's celebrity guest co-hosts on "The View." Now it's your chance to make a special guest appearance and gab it up with co-hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd.
In celebration of volunteerism, ABC's "The View" is searching for America's Ultimate Volunteer -- a person who goes above and beyond to help others and inspires the community to action. Nominate your friend or family member who has the unconditional giving quality, and you both can join the ladies on the Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show.
The winner will also receive 1 million Starpoints from the award-winning SPG loyalty program of Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, plus $10,000 spending cash. Winner and nominator will travel together to New York to make a special appearance on "The View" during the week of Oct. 19, 2009.
America's Ultimate Volunteer can use the 1 million Starpoints for multiple vacations in Hawaii at any Starwood Hotels and Resorts Hawaii properties. While travel options are virtually limitless, some examples of what the Ultimate Volunteer can do with 1 million Starpoints are earn 11 weeks at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa, 25 round-trip tickets from Los Angeles to Hawaii, and much more.
To nominate someone, viewers can log onto ABC.com/TheView where they will need to submit a 250-word essay explaining why their nominee deserves to be named America's Ultimate Volunteer. Submissions will be accepted between Sept. 16 and Sept. 29, 2009, and will be narrowed down to 10 finalists. The viewers can vote for their favorite nominee from Oct. 6 through Oct. 12, 2009.
