Jan. 3, 2014— -- Flight canceled? It's entirely possible, even if you haven't received a text or email from your airline yet. FlightAware.com, a flight-tracking service, has reported 950 delayed flights in the U.S. and 1,800 cancellations so far today.

Airports with the highest number of cancellations are in the Northeast. New York's LaGuardia Airport is first, followed by Newark Liberty International, Boston Logan International, Philadelphia International and New York's JFK.
Chicago O'Hare is also experiencing cancellations and delays.
In the case of bad weather, airlines issue flexible policies that allow travelers to take their trips at a later date. These policies also waive change fees, even on the lowest-priced, most restrictive tickets. Here are links to individual airline policies:
