Ex-Pinnacle West CEO joins US Airways board

PHOENIX -- Retired Pinnacle West Capital Corp. Chairman and CEO William J. Post has been named to the board of directors of Tempe-based US Airways Group.

Post, 60, spent 36 years at Phoenix-based Pinnacle West and its Arizona Public Service subsidiary before retiring from the company in 2009 and from its board of directors in 2010.

At US Airways, Post will serve on the board's Compensation and Human Resources and Labor committees. US Airways Chairman and CEO Doug Parker called Post a seasoned corporate leader with extensive experience "operating in a complex and highly regulated environment."

Post now serves as board chairman of Swift Transportation and as a director of First Solar and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

He also is a board member of the Translational Genomics Research Institute in Phoenix and of Glendale's Thunderbird School of Global Management and is chairman of the board of trustees of Arizona State University.
