title: College Bowl Upsets, Nail-Biterstext: The Ohio State Buckeyes' upset victory over the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide Thursday was among the surprising wins in college football bowl games on New Year's Day. Alabama football was a top Google search Thursday, showing the team's 35-42 loss at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Auburn football was another top search term as Auburn University's disappointing season ended with a 31-34 loss to the University of Wisconsin–Madison Badgers.

The University of Oregon Ducks dominated the Florida State Seminoles 59-20 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. But several Oregon players face team discipline after apparently mocking Florida State quarterback and 2013 Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston for allegations of sexual assault against him, ESPN reported. The players had reportedly chanted "No means no" after their victory. Authorities have said there was insufficient evidence to charge Winston after a woman accused him of raping her in 2012, and the university cleared him in a student code of conduct hearing.
