— -- ABC News Meteorologist Mel explains how this week's weather forecast could impact your fantasy football league.

Patriots vs. Bills in Buffalo:

It’s a rainy week in Buffalo, and that trend sticks around through Sunday with showers in the forecast throughout the game, and temperatures only in the 50s. Our big topic this week is running backs, mainly because there are six teams on bye and rain is also possible. Starting with the Patriots, LeGarette Blount has had eight touchdowns this year! It was expected the Patriots would turn to the running game when Tom Brady was out, but now that he’s back Blount is still a major contributor to the offense and should be played in fantasy leagues every week. I’m starting to like him more and more, and especially more than Julian Edelman who has been somewhat of a disappointment this year, even with the return of Brady. Back in Week 4 when the Bills played the Patriots in a rainy Foxborough, I said to sit Edelman and the Bills ended up holding him to only one reception for sixteen yards. He has yet to even get a touchdown this season. On the Bills, the biggest offensive weapon, LeSean McCoy, is questionable due to his hamstring injury. If he doesn’t play Mike Gillislee could take over, but he’s still risky. I would look for better options than the Bills' offense if McCoy is ruled out.

Jets vs. Browns in Cleveland:

We’re not far from Buffalo, so Cleveland will see similar weather -- chance for showers and temperatures in the 50s. This is a tough matchup with a messy quarterback situation on both the Jets and the Browns. With or without rain in the forecast it is hard to start many players on either offense; in fact, the only two worth start are the running backs. Both teams have been and will continue to rely on the rushing game to reach the end zone. With Ryan Fitzpatrick being the king of interceptions, the Browns on their sixth quarterback of the season, and likely wet weather, none of it is very promising. Matt Forte had one of his best games of the season last week, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown, and he’s in a position to have another great game against the Browns, who allow the fifth-most fantasy points to tailbacks. Isaiah Crowell might not have it so easy against the Jets' stingy run defense, but the Browns don’t have many other options. And with the rain and so many running backs on bye, there are more than enough reasons to play Crowell this week.

Here are your top 10 players to start and sit based on the weather this week:

Our Wayback Weather game is the 1981 AFC Championship Game between the San Diego Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals, also known as the Freezer Bowl. It had the lowest recorded wind chill in NFL history. The temperature was 9 below zero, but that wind chill dropped the temperature to a painful negative 59 degrees -- that’s what it actually felt like outside. The Bengals' offensive line surprisingly played the entire game with bare arms; it didn’t even seem to faze them. But just a week earlier, the Chargers were playing in the 88-degree heat and humidity in Miami -- nearly a 100-degree difference! So in the end, the Chargers were just too cold to handle it, and the Bengals won 27-7.
