Kidnapped North Miami Brothers Reunited with Mother
Two missing brothers were found in car of family acquaintance, no charges filed.
Feb. 5, 2013— -- Two Florida boys, kidnapped from their North Miami home Monday night while their mother ran an errand, have been found and reunited with their mother, police told ABCNews.com.
Brothers Daren Bonilla, 5, and Rey Bonilla, 3, were found this afternoon with a 23-year-old woman, whom police have yet to name publically, but who they say snatched the children without their mother's permission.
The woman, whom police have identified only as "Gloria," was found with the two children in her car. All three were taken to a North Miami police station where the children were united with their mother.
"The children have been found. We stopped the person who had them, who we were were looking for," North Miami Police spokesman Neal Cueveas said.
"The boys are both in very good shape," he said.
The woman, Gloria, who is a known acquaintance of the children's mother, has not been charged with a crime and is no longer in custody, but police reserve the right to arrest her at a later date, Cueveas said.
The children were reported kidnapped Monday evening, after their mother left them with a babysitter while she went to run errands.
Police said Gloria appeared at the family home and told the babysitter she had to take the children somewhere. She put the children in her car, believed to be a silver SUV, and drove off.
Cops said they were unable to issue an Amber Alert because they did not know enough about the vehicle in which the children were taken.
