Dozens of tornadoes were reported across Texas and Oklahoma Tuesday, including one in Mineral Wells, Texas that caused "extensive damage," according to police.

A dispatcher at the Mineral Wells Police Department said the downtown area appeared to be the hardest hit. There was no immediate word of injuries.

Damage stretched over a two-block area, according to a reporter with ABC News affiliate WFAA-TV in Dallas.

The National Weather Service Fort Worth tweeted that a second tornado was reported north of Mineral Wells, and the storm appeared strong enough to produce more.

The town, with a population of about 16,000 people, is about 50 miles west of Fort Worth, Texas.

Additionally, in Lee County, which is located between Houston and Austin, one injury was reported. There were no reports early Wednesday on the tornadoes' strength.
