Banksy Sells Graffiti at a Discount; Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny Want to Do 3rd 'X-Files' Movie

It's not always enough to know what's "trending." It kind of helps to know why. Welcome to The Social Climber, where we provide a quick primer on the people, places and things that are being feverishly searched and shared online -- and try to make sense of it all.

You missed your chance.

Elusive British graffiti artist Banksy, whose works sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars, could barely give his art away when he tried selling original signed works at a park in New York City Sunday.

"Yesterday I set up a stall in the park selling 100% authentic original signed Banksy canvases," the artist, whose real identity remains a mystery, posted on his website.

Just a handful of paintings sold, netting a total of $420, according to the artist.

Mulder and Scully are back. Or, at least, they're both open to being back.

Gillian Anderson, 45, and David Duchovny, 53, first debuted as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully on "The X-Files" 20 years ago.

The hit show ran for nine seasons and two movies were made from it. Now, the famous duo say they're both open to a third movie.

"All the principals are on board," Duchovny said at a panel discussion at The Paley Center for Media in New York this weekend, according to the AP. "Gillian and I want to do it, so it's really up to Twentieth Century Fox at this point."

Twentieth Century Fox officials better brace themselves.

Athlete super-couple Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy have reportedly broken up.

The top tennis (Wozniacki) and golf (McIlroy) players, whose relationship has been notably Twitter public, have called it quits, according to the Independent.

Both have fallen in their world sports rankings since becoming a couple, according to the Washington Post. Wozniacki slipped from first place to eighth and McIlroy dropped from first to sixth. Ouch.

Well, we all know that love means nothing in tennis ... apparently the same goes for golf.

He's real, people. The Bionic Man showed up at New York Comic Con with his moving and breathing and artificial limbs.

A team of engineers used artificial limbs and organs to create a robot man that is the subject of a Smithsonian Channel documentary that airs Oct. 20 called "The Incredible Bionic Man."

The idea of the "bionic man" became popular in the 70s when the TV show "The Six Million Dollar Man" aired.

We're not so sure about this. First stop, one bionic man for show. Second stop, bionic army world domination. Don't say Social Climber didn't warn you, world.
