— -- 1. North Korea Blasts US Over Sony Hack Sanctions

North Korea criticized the United States for sanctions issued against officials and organizations in Pyongyang over the country's alleged involvement in the hack of Sony Pictures.

An unnamed spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry denied any role in the cyberattack and accused the U.S. of "groundlessly" stirring up hostility, The Associated Press Reports.

The U.S. sanctioned 10 North Korean government officials and three organizations, including Pyongyang's primary intelligence agency and state-run arms dealer, on Friday.

2. Body of Missing College Student Found in River

The body of a missing college student was found Saturday in the Schuylkill River, according to his family.

Police have not confirmed that the body is Shane Montgomery, 21, who has not been seen since Thanksgiving Day. Philadelphia police said only that a body was found in the river in the city's Manayunk section.

In a posting on the Help Find Shane Montgomery Facebook page, the family said: "We have done what we promised. We found and brought Shane home."

3. Woman Shot By Police Chief Husband Upgraded to Fair Condition

A woman shot by her husband, a police chief in Georgia, was upgraded from serious to fair condition on Sunday.

Margaret McCollom remains hospitalized after she was shot by Peachtree City police chief William McCollom on New Year's Day. It's unclear when she'll be well enough to speak with investigators.

McCollom told 911 operators that he was moving the gun when it accidentally fired.

4. NFL Playoffs Begin

The NFL playoffs kicked off this weekend.

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Detroit Lions on Sunday night. Earlier in the day, The Indianapolis Colts knocked out the Cincinnati Bengals.

On Saturday, the Carolina Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens advanced.

5. Baby Gorilla Shunned by Mom Moves to 2nd Ohio Zoo

A baby gorilla raised by human keepers moved to a new Ohio zoo as the search for a surrogate mother continued, The Associated Press reports.

Kamina was born in August at the zoo in Oklahoma City but was shunned by her mother. She was then sent to Cincinnati a month later.

Human keepers there taught how her to act like a gorilla. When two female gorillas didn't bond with her, Kamina moved to Columbus.
