American Corporate Partners (ACP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting service members in their transition from the military to the private sector. With the help of business professionals nationwide, ACP offers veterans tools for long-term career development through mentoring, career counseling, and networking opportunities.

Through ACP's nationwide Mentoring Program, transitioning service members work one-on-one with employees from some of the largest corporations and universities in the country in yearlong mentorships. And on ACP AdvisorNet, an interactive business Q&A community, current and former service members can seek career and business advice from experienced professionals in a variety of industries.

ACP served as a partner to ABC News in the creation of the "Standing Up for Heroes" mentorship series. ACP worked with each of the veterans in the video series and advises ABC News on the structure and goals of successful mentoring relationships.

LinkedIn for Veterans

For the "Standing Up for Heroes" series, ABC News partnered with leading professional networking website LinkedIn. LinkedIn has created an online community designed to bring civilian mentors together with veterans who are building their civilian careers. LinkedIn recently created The Veterans Mentor Network (VMN) to help foster ongoing dialogue among veterans and civilian professionals interested in serving as advisors or mentors.

Google for Veterans and Families

Google has created a number of online communities for veterans as well as range of digital tools and products designed to assist both veterans and their families. Google also hosts a number of special seminars and workshops throughout the year designed to assist veterans in preparing for their civilian career search.
