We're to start with the two charter flights touching down with hundreds of American evacuees from the diamond princess cruise ship in Japan. All of the passengers arriving at military bases in California and Texas are now under quarantine for two weeks. As you just heard fourteen of those passengers tested positive for covad nineteen or the novel corona virus. All of this is raising new questions about the quarantine efforts taking place across China and around the globe. Mainly as a quarantine really work. And are we prepared here in the US. We'll talk to doctor Jan Ashton about the containment effort and what we're learning about the disease. But first place and Dell leads us off from Omaha where some of those Americans have just arrived. Tonight more than a dozen Americans back on US soil now believed to be infected with novel corona virus. Landing in Omaha Nebraska today escorted from the plane one by one by medical teams rushed off by motorcade to this special isolation unit. They've had a very long journey. Americans were evacuated from the diamond princess cruise ship in Japan flown to bases in Texas and California arriving overnight. Fourteen are suspected of having a car rotavirus infection. For now in isolation and hospitalized near Travis Air Force Base near Sacramento ten in Omaha. Hundreds of passengers checked before leaving the ship were deemed healthy to fly. We met John and Melanie Herring when he spiked a fever and had to be hospitalized he's now fighting the virus and has pneumonia behind diamond princess the couple deciding Melanie should be on that flight home. Melanie is now back in the US telling us she too spiked a fever. And cleans and Dell joins us now from Omaha Nebraska playing what's next for the hundreds of passengers who flew in today. Yet Diane for most of those evacuees roughly 300 of them they will remain in quarantine for two weeks but because they work. Potentially exposed on that bus ride in Japan they'll be monitored. Especially closely now as for the fourteen people who tested positive in Japan. Four of them were in California ten of them are here in Omaha.
