It would also create an unarmed civilian traffic department. Give the community oversight the police took four. There would also be a citation and summons model essentially banning arrest for low level offenses. The resolution will not require police officers to violate state law. The resolution will not deputized unarmed residents into road and onto the ropes to make traffic stops. This day of decision comes 34 days. After Daunte Wright was fatally shot but Brooklyn center police officer. Can all our son. On April 11. Was murdered. Because of a just a minor traffic. The resolution is named for right. What we Heiser who had autism and mental illness. And was fatally shot by police in August 2019. Today both their families spoke emotionally the council. I don't wish this upon anybody in this room. And in order to not have those happen we need this. Resolution but I know for sure that if measures like this had been passed earlier. Saying it would be dangerous for civilians to take over some policing duties you know.
