— -- No one had the winning numbers for the estimated $524 million Powerball jackpot -- 47, 2, 63, 62, 11 and the Powerball of 17 -- which means Saturday's jackpot will be an estimated $675 million, the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. The previous largest was a Mega Millions jackpot of $656 million in 2012.

The prize surged from $450 million to $524 million Wednesday night, making it the fourth largest Powerball jackpot of all time.

The payout would have had an estimated cash value of more than $300 million, before taxes, according to the Powerball website. The final take-home amount depends on an individual's tax rate and the state and local taxes in their state of residence, Tracey Cohen, the interim executive director of the D.C. Lottery, told ABC News.

Gloria Mackenzie of Zephryhills, Florida, won the largest Powerball jackpot of all time in 2013, worth $590.5 million. Mackenzie bought the winning number from a Publix supermarket in May 2013 after a stranger let her cut him in line. She was 84 years old at the time.

The largest lottery jackpot to date was won in three states in March 2012, when the Mega Millions drawing reached a whopping $656 million.

In the past 13 years, 16 Powerball jackpot winners have bought their tickets in Pennsylvania, more than any other state.

Powerball is played by 44 U.S. states as well as the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Winners are advised to sign the lottery ticket as soon as they get the chance. Two forms of identification, along with the signed ticket, are required to claim the prize, Cohen said.
